The Importance of Oxygen

Without Energy, there is No Life
Without Oxygen, there is No Energy

Every thought, every movement, every breath, for every second of our lives, requires energy.

This vital energy is produced at a cellular level (inside our cells). Our body is made up of tens of trillions of cells and within each cell are a few thousand little power-plants called mitochondria.

That’s a lot of mitochondria!

Energy Production

Mitochondria use oxygen and the broken-down products of food (like glucose) to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP) – the essential energy molecule that fuels almost all cellular activity.

A generous and consistent supply of oxygen is necessary for this process to occur efficiently and effectively. When the cellular immune system is functioning optimally, these cells detect, fight and get rid of tumoral and viral infected cells.

Hypoxia

When your cells have low levels of oxygen, they start dying early. That’s hypoxia – it drives inflammation, accelerates aging and increases the risk of chronic disease.

IDunn’s bath tubs have been designed specifically to help tackle hypoxia.
